The Teenage Market – More Diverse and Multicultural 01/24/2005
Marketers targeting the teenage market should also assess its changing face. According to a recent Packaged Facts report, teens that come from multicultural backgrounds are projected to reach 40% of the U.S. teenage population by 2006. Caucasians will only account for 60% of the total teenage population, with the Hispanic population constituting the largest teenage minority group. Additionally, as the buying power of teens increases, marketers should not only look at the teenage market as a powerful audience, but should also make sure that their message is relevant to this widely multicultural audience.
