Skirt Magazine is a local women's magazine that covers topics about work, play, families, creativity, style, health, wealth, body and soul. It is an independent magazine targeting middle- to upper-class women of Charleston, South Carolina. Circulation is 27,000 and is mailed to subscribers once a month, as well as distributed for free via magazine racks at various locations. Skirt Magazine has been very successful in attracting such advertisers as skin therapy spas, real-estate brokers, department stores, furniture and home design stores, and insurance and financial companies. In February of this year, Skirt Magazine will expand its circulation into Augusta, Georgia with 12,000 circulation. There are plans to continue the expansion in 2004 into Savannah, Georgia, Columbia, South Carolina and Jacksonville, Florida, as well.
